Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, the president of drought and Famine Stricken Horn of Africa Somalia appealed on Tuesday to the international community to help his government the war on Al-shabab militants.
Somali president Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed said, while attending on Monday at the conclusion of a three day consultative meeting chaired by the UN especial Representative for Somalia, Augustine Mahiga, that the strategy of his government’s security and political tasks towards the country are going well.
President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed noted that the retreat of Al-shabab fighters from Mogadishu, the capital of war torn Somalia made it possible to his government to set up strong armed forces that enabled to defeat Al-shabab.
President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed said, he welcomes the IGAD decision from the recent ordinary summit held in Addis Ababa-Ethiopia to destroy Islamist militants of Al-shabab and root out from their strong hold regions in Somalia with the help of African union peace keeping troops in Mogadishu.
Somali presidents also cited that the parliament lawmakers went unpaid because of the financial problems of the Government. Mr.Ahmed pointed out the there are mismanagement of international donors intended TFG, urging the international community to deliver soon their economic help to Somalia government.
